Avalanche Draft: If Bowen Byram is available, Avs should grab him

Count me in as someone in the “You can never have too much defense” camp of hockey thinking. It’s easier to shut down teams with good defense than it is to win primarily with offense. Just look at how the St. Louis Blues just won the Stanley Cup.

Of course, I love fun, skillful, fancy offensive hockey too. But give me a blue line that is packed with studs and I’ll take my chances against your fancy offensive team in the postseason every time.
