Catching up with former Avs

“Catching up with former Avs” – Chris Dingman

Welcome to a new feature on Colorado Hockey Now. We’re calling it “Catching up with Former Avs”, and it’ll be just like it sounds. A visit with an Avalanche of yesteryear, to catch up on what they’re up to these days and take a stroll down memory lane of their time wearing the burgundy and blue.

My first visit is with Chris “Dish” Dingman, who came to the Avs in the big Theo Fleury trade in 1999 from Calgary and spent the next two years in the organization, including the Stanley Cup team of 2001. He was traded to Carolina after winning the Cup, then went on to four successful seasons in Tampa Bay before retiring in 2007. He got into broadcasting with the Lightning after that and had a good long stint there before changes were made.

Dish talked to me on the phone Monday night from his home in Alberta.
