Bo Byram

Whether Bo Byram spends the full 2019-20 season with the Avalanche will probably be the biggest storyline of the first few weeks of the fall. He’s only 18, but the fourth overall pick in this year’s NHL draft has a chance to stick with the Avs if he proves to Jared Bednar, Joe Sakic and Co. that he’s ready.

Today at the World Junior Summer Showcase with Team Canada, Byram looked very good indeed.

Former GM and longtime hockey analyst Craig Button, who specializes in the analysis of young prospects, indicated he doesn’t think Byram will be available to Team Canada when the 2020 World Junior tournament begins.

Why? Because, presumably, he’d be with the Avalanche and they wouldn’t want to let him go for that long. Ergo, they’d need him.
