Avalanche morning skate notebook: Cable companies, Altitude remain at impasse
The first hockey of the season kicks off tonight, with the Avalanche meeting the Vegas Golden Knights at the Pepsi Center (7 p.m.).
The game will be televised on Altitude, with Marc Moser and Peter McNab calling the action. But if you live in the metro Denver area, you probably won’t be able to see it. That’s because, of course, the standoff between Comcast, DirecTV, Dish and Altitude remains.
“Nothing new to report,” one source with knowledge of the situation told me today.
But, I was also told: “Every avenue is being explored to get us back on the air.”
Maybe it’ll be a deal with Amazon. Maybe it’ll be a deal with YouTube or some other entity. I just don’t know how this whole thing will shake out. But this is obviously a serious thing now, at least from the perspective of Avs fans who won’t be able to see Conor Timmins or Bo Byram on TV, locally, tonight.
That sucks. Call your cable companies, folks.
Here is the lineup for the game tonight:

As you can see, not too many “veterans” in the lineup for the Avs. Obviously, how Timmins and Byram look will be a big storyline from the game.
I listened in on their media scrums today, to bring you this audio:
CONOR TIMMINS
BO BYRAM
And, some time with Adam Werner, who is slated to start the game in goal:
ADAM WERNER
