Winner and losers from Avalanche training camp

Published

on

The Avalanche will make their final cuts by Tuesday. On Monday, the Avs put D-man Kevin Connauton on waivers, along with forward Jayson Megna. That does not mean either might not still make the opening-night roster, however. It just means that before they are optioned to the Colorado Eagles of the AHL, they had to pass through waivers.

If Connauton and Megna do, indeed, go down to the AHL, that would bring the Avs’ current roster total to 25 players. Those 25 players include the injured/rehabbing Ian Cole, so for all intents and purposes the Avs probably only need to make one more cut by Tuesday to get down to the 23-man limit, as Cole will go on I.R.

So, with the roster process just about over and the season set to start Thursday night, let’s take a look at some winners and losers from Avalanche camp (and I use the word “losers” in a way not to be a jerk, but, you know what I’m saying).
