Nathan MacKinnon Still Pines to Outdo Buddy Sidney Crosby
By Shelly Anderson – National Hockey Now
PITTSBURGH – Long after most of his Colorado Avalanche teammates were finished practicing, even dressed and gone, center Nathan MacKinnon remained on the PPG Paints Arena ice Tuesday afternoon, working on some details to his game. Remind you of something Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby might do? That’s no coincidence.
MacKinnon and the Avalanche are in town for a game Wednesday and practiced after the Penguins at the arena.
Crosby and MacKinnon – friends, summer workout buddies, fellow No. 1 overall NHL draft picks and both from the Halifax, Nova Scotia, area – only get to play against each other twice a year given the interconference scheduling in the NHL.
