An Oral History of That Unreal Move Cale Makar Made Saturday Night

I don’t usually watch too many hockey plays over and over. Call me jaded and cynical (hey, everybody else does so you’ll fit right in) but I feel like, with almost any play made, I’ve been there, seen that in some variation at some point.

But, honestly, I spent a lot of time watching this particular play from last night’s Colorado Avalanche game against Anaheim. And, honestly, I couldn’t think of any time where I’d seen one like it before by an Avs player.

Let’s call this play the “The Fake-around” by Cale Makar, which kind of fits in a linguistic sense already. If you missed it from last night, here it is:
