ERUPTION: That Second Period Was One For the Record Books
So, it was 3-2 in favor of the Nashville Predators in at the 4:55 mark of the second period, after MATT DUCHENE scored a fluky goal over Pavel Francouz, who appeared to almost be hyperventilating in nervousness after it went in. The Colorado Avalanche looked in trouble again, in high danger of dropping a seventh game in the last eight.
And then this happened:
Honestly, I don’t have words right now to explain what we all saw. I really don’t. I don’t think I’ve ever been that surprised by a final 15 minutes of a period than that one. Avs score six goals in eight minutes flat. Six goals in eight minutes.
What???
Honestly, just watch the goals and enjoy. I will try to add more later:
The @Avalanche scored six times in a span of 8:00 to establish a franchise record for fastest six goals in a game. #NHLStats pic.twitter.com/nhbocZSgzW

A franchise record. I knew I’d never seen anything like it.
