ERUPTION: That Second Period Was One For the Record Books

So, it was 3-2 in favor of the Nashville Predators in at the 4:55 mark of the second period, after MATT DUCHENE scored a fluky goal over Pavel Francouz, who appeared to almost be hyperventilating in nervousness after it went in. The Colorado Avalanche looked in trouble again, in high danger of dropping a seventh game in the last eight.

And then this happened:

Honestly, I don’t have words right now to explain what we all saw. I really don’t. I don’t think I’ve ever been that surprised by a final 15 minutes of a period than that one. Avs score six goals in eight minutes flat. Six goals in eight minutes.

Honestly, just watch the goals and enjoy. I will try to add more later:

A franchise record. I knew I’d never seen anything like it.

So amazing. Im on the lightrail right now headed home, and I still cant feel my hands.

Fingers crossed they can put together back to back efforts like tonight’s game so we know it’s not just a fluke – but you can’t plan on scoring 5 every night and expect to win – D still needs to tighten up – and they still made way too many turnovers.

Was wondering what reference you would come up with for that unleashing of production in the 2nd. Eruption from VH is perfect. BTW, I love how (good) rock n roll mixes so well with hockey footage. Fires me up like nothing else.
