Yes, the Avalanche lost another forward, but won anyway against Edmonton

It must have been one of the all-time great locker-room speeches after the first period by someone in that Colorado Avalanche dressing room tonight, because, wow, what a different team it was from that point forward.

Even though the Avs outshot the Edmonton Oilers by two in that first period, it was a sluggish showing really. There were even a few boos from a big, holiday crowd and there was growing fear that this would be another one of those nights.

Instead, the Avs came out and played transformed into the fun, fast and exciting team they can be. They would get 29 of the next 36 shots on goal in the game, and stormed to a 4-1 victory.

What was said between that first and second period, anyway, and can it be recorded for posterity and/or bottled for a motivational speaking tour?
