No letup this time; Avs win, wire-to-wire, against Blues

Well, for once, by God, there was no need to page the late, great Dr. Heimlich.

The Avalanche did NOT choke away a hockey game, folks. Not this one, not against the St. Louis Blues, not with another third-period lead, not on home ice.

Nossiree.

Were there some fans reaching for the oxygen masks, after a three-goal lead was turned into a one-goal lead, at one point in the hockey game? Never mind that, the Avs won a darned hockey game again, 7-3.

They outplayed the Blues from start to finish and closed out a Central Division-heavy homestand on the right note.
