Inside the Avs’ Dressing Room: Grubauer talks more about things, and Bednar says Stars centers cheat

Before we get to some uncut audio, an update on Joonas Donskoi: He won’t play tomorrow against San Jose. While he did practice today, he did so in a non-contact jersey. He seemed to have very few limitations to anything he wanted to do, looking fast and agile on his skates. He even spent his time in the regular dressing room after practice, not hidden in the back room like the Avs do with most injured players.

But, rules being rules, the media can’t talk to players until they officially come off the injured list.

OK, so let’s get to some audio. Sometimes I think it’s better for people to just listen to the player, instead of me interpreting what he said or trying to concoct a story around their words.

I’ve got a few minutes here with Philipp Grubauer. He can be a tough interview, because he doesn’t suffer fools gladly and I’m perfectly capable of asking foolish questions sometimes. Or boring questions, or ones he doesn’t understand. So there’s a touch of that in this, but for the most part I think Grubi is pretty conversational here, about the state of things with him and the team.
