Inside the Avs’ Locker Room: Joonas Brother wins it, and “That’s Life”

LOS ANGELES – Well, the game was about as much fun as root canal, but the Avalanche escape from L.A. with two points in the bag. Joonas Donskoi’s deking dunk of a shootout shot on Jonathan Quick put the game to a merciful end.

The slow, aging Kings have to win by turning the game into a mud pit slug-fest, and they almost stole their second win from the Avs in a little more than a week. The other game was in a literal mud pit up at Air Force Academy, remember?

So, for my postgame offering for you here, I thought I’d paint the scene a little bit in the room afterward. We don’t get a lot of time in there, but I do have some breaking news to report: the Avs have a new postgame song after wins. Remember, early in the season, it was “Stayin’ Alive” by the BeeGees?

Well, now it’s Frank Sinatra! Yes, this team may be young, but it’s got an old soul when it comes to music apparently.
