Practice Notebook: Avs earn a full day off

Published

on

Coming off the heels of a thrilling buzzer-beater game, in which a Nazem Kadri goal with 0.1 seconds left gave the Avalanche a 2-1 win over Cup-defending St. Louis, the Avs earned themselves a full day’s rest in the Edmonton bubble today. No practice and no meetings. The boys are likely enjoying their free Tim Horton’s in the J.W. Marriott courtyard right now before they hit up that sweet golf simulator that’s at Rogers Place.

Regarding what Wednesday night’s lineup might look like, I asked Avs head coach Jared Bednar this afternoon if we should expect goaltender Pavel Francouz between the pipes against Dallas, and if Matt Nieto would reclaim his spot on the fourth line against the Stars after Tyson Jost slotted in Nieto’s normal position for Sunday night’s round-robin opener.
