Joonas Donskoi unfit to play Game 3

EDMONTON, ALBERTA – Just got more bad news where at Rogers Place. Joonas Donskoi has been deemed “unfit to play” in Game 3 for the Avalanche.

As I type this, it’ll be either Logan O’Connor or Sheldon Dries in the lineup as his replacement. Both were in the Avalanche warmup, while Donskoi was not.

Donskoi missed a game earlier in the postseason with an undisclosed ailment. It’s another blow to a suddenly-thinning Avalanche lineup. The Avs were entering Game 3 already without Erik Johnson, Philipp Grubauer and Matt Calvert.

We all know this as Avalanche watchers: when it comes to injuries, when it rains it pours.

Talent has never been in question. However is it time to start to question the heart of this team?

Jo

Absolutely not. Great display of the heart of this team tonight in game 3.

Not after game 3! You should have waited a few hours…

O’Connor played gritty in his place!

Rich

I agree. I saw a lot of heart out on the ice in game 3. Just getting frustrated with the day-to-day injury report.
