Avs game with Wild Thursday postponed

Published

on

Bad news for Avs and hockey fans overall: Thursday’s game between the Avs and Minnesota Wild has been postponed.

We documented why this might happen in a previous post. Just too many players (mostly the Wild) have been placed on the Covid-19 protocol list, the details of which were also documented in the previous post.

As for the Avs’ games this weekend in St. Louis: I’m hearing they are still on – for now. The nervous question is: Because Jost is now in the protocol, how many other Avs players might join him, based on testing in the next day or two? We’ll find out, but as of now, if Jost is the only guy on the protocol, I would think there’s still some nervous optimism that those games will go on. But, man, this is just not the ideal scenario, is it? Players wanted to have more time with their families and not be in a bubble, but this is kind of the price to pay for that. Everything went off without a hitch in the bubbled playoffs last summer, but things right now are…chaotic…at best, with a freer situation for the players.

2020 ain’t over, folks. 2021 is bringing us just all kinds of stuff too. The Avs and Wild being postponed, just 12 games into the season, is just…yeah, this shit ain’t over, folks.

I would tend to bet that the Avs and Blues’ games will still be on, but that could be wrong. The next 48 hours will tell the story.

Otherwise, best wishes to Jostie and everyone else. Wash those hands and stay safe out there people.
