NOTEBOOK: Jared Bednar said Cale Makar went back to Denver for treatment on his upper-body injury. Bednar had no further update on his prognosis. He’ll miss the next two games, at minimum. … Matt Calvert will miss another game with his upper-body injury (not a concussion). … The Avs have scored first in 13 of their 18 games so far this season and are 10-2-1 in those games. … Nathan MacKinnon has 22 goals (11 goals, 11 assists) in 20 career games against the Sharks. … The Avs are heavy favorites (-210) to win tonight at SuperBook. … Here is the projected lineup for the Sharks. Martin Jones in goal. …Bednar was asked if Makar’s current upper-body injury is the same as the last one, and he said he didn’t know. He said he didn’t know what his injury was last time. … The Avs will have 17 games in the next 31 days. … Joonas Donskoi on the heavy schedule of late: “We’re ready to go. We had a good off-season. We’re ready for it.” … The game is on Altitude 2, as the Nuggets are playing tonight as well. … I’ve asked people at Altitude recently if there has been any progress toward a new deal with Comcast, and have been told no. … Sharks defenseman, former Norris Trophy winner Erik Karlsson, returned Saturday from injury.

Dater any clue why dan renouf is in instead of pateryn? Either player is that good I get it, but i feel pateryn has a little more to give than dan. Dan didnt do anything to stand out at all?

Side note I wonder if makar gets hurt a couple more times if we blockbuster him away before headed towards another injury prone player, I know dont get to a head of myself but something to keep on mind

Position changes don’t ever seem to happen inhockey, unlike the NFL, and even in the NFL it is rare, but we should try to move Jost to be a defenseman. It would allow us to bring up Bowers, Kaut, or Sherwood, all three who are vast improvement over Jost as forwards, and Jost this season has basically just been defense anyway. We get better defense than we would from Reniuf or Gilbert or Timmins etc, while also being able to bring up a forward who will provide alot more offense than Jost
