Scott Takes: Avs eke out win in a ‘frustrating’ game against Arizona

Midway through the game, the Arizona Coyotes had just three shots on goal.

At one point, it took the Coyotes 23 minutes and 29 seconds to register their fourth shot of the game.

The Avalanche, on the other hand, had nearly 30 shots on goal at this point. Yet, it that somehow translated to just a 1-0 score for the Avs.

And the way this season has gone for the Avs, you just knew — had a bad feeling in the pit of the stomach — that the Coyotes were going to somehow steal this one.

Not this time, though.

The Avs eked out a 2-1 OT win. It certainly wasn’t pretty, but the Avs earned two points in the West Division standings, and that is all that matters these days.

“Just stick with it. It doesn’t matter how well you’re playing, it’s about the results,” said Brandon Saad after the game. “I think we did a good job of sticking with it and not getting too frustrated.”
