NHL

For better or worse, NHL teams have what they have, for the rest of the season. With the NHL trade deadline passing Monday, what’s the mood around the rest of of the league with that they’ve got?

The Masters
  • The St. Louis Blues did not much of anything at the deadline, to the frustration of some fans. But GM Doug Armstrong believes in the group he has, moving forward (St. Louis Post-Dispatch).
  • The Vegas Golden Knights seem pretty with their big acquisition, Mattias Janmark (Vegas Hockey Now)
  • Sam Bennett going to Florida was something of a surprise. (Florida Hockey Now)
  • They are a bit baffled in Philadelphia at the moves of GM Chuck Fletcher (Philly Hockey Now)
  • They’re pretty happy in Pittsburgh, about getting Jeff Carter (Pittsburgh Hockey Now)
  • The feeling around the New York Rangers seems to be “wait til next year” (NY Post)
  • They seem pretty happy about things in Toronto, about the deadline (Toronto Star)
  • In Boston, they are very happy they got Taylor Hall (Boston Hockey Now)
  • Things are getting depressing in San Jose (SJ Hockey Now)
  • The reactions seems pretty meh what Montreal did at the deadline (Montreal Gazette)

Add to that, a real backup goalie and a third goalie… Read more »

Outside of bringing the puck up – – which Jost could still do with Soderberg on his line (since Soderberg usually plants himself in front of the net anyway,) I don’t see this as slowing Jost’s game down.
