Another Avs positive Covid test – this is getting more serious

That makes three. Three players on the Avs now have tested positive for Covid-19. The latest positive test, to a still-unnamed player, was announced this morning. The morning skate was canceled.

So, yeah, this is getting a bit worrisome. Philipp Grubauer and Bo Byram already have tested positive and remain in quarantine. Now, another one. Now, we have to sweat out until later this afternoon to find out who it is (the NHL is very strict about keeping identities of players who’ve tested positive under wraps until they’re ready to release it).

The Avs got vaccinated as a team Monday night, but since then there have been two positive tests. I’m not a doctor, so I have no idea how/why that can happen.

The Covid list usually is released between 3 and 3:30 p.m. mountain time every day. So, we’re about three hours away from knowing.

Because the skate was canceled, I have no lineup information for tonight’s game – still scheduled – against the Los Angeles Kings. When the Avs do that, all media opportunities disappear too.

We’ll obviously update this when we know more…
