Avs Notebook from Vegas, Baby

LAS VEGAS – Hello from Lost Wages, Nevada. Actually, I’m up a couple of C notes or so, so far here. DaterJinx, my ass! I also got some VIP treatment yesterday at the Westgate SuperBook, a private booth to watch the game with my buddy Jim, a retired Army veteran and a newcomer named Ace, who is an entertainment lawyer from Los Angeles and a huge Avs fan. Thank you to Westgate poo-bah Jay Kornegay for the first-class accommodations there. The sports book at the Westgate is UN-Believable. You MUST go if you’re in town. Picture this: 25-FOOT TV screens all around, crystal clear, food, drink and betting opportunities at the ready. If that wasn’t heaven, it must have been close.

The Avalanche held a practice here today, and yours truly was there. It was my first time ever in T-Mobile Arena, and it’s a fine, fine venue. But, WOW, is the press box high up in the nosebleeds. Honestly, I need to buy a cheap set of binoculars just to be able to see the game tomorrow night between the Avs and Golden Knights.

I was able to shoot a little video of Philipp Grubauer, back on the ice for the first time in about two weeks.
