DATER COLUMN: Why the Avalanche got better today in goal with Kuemper

I certainly have had many things I’ve said taken out of context in my long, long sports writing career. So, whatever Philipp Grubauer said today in his introductory Zoom press conference as a new member of the Seattle Kraken, who cares? Well, OK, but did Grubauer really say the following words – and, apparently, he did?

“It was a no-brainer to go to Seattle,” Grubauer is quoted as having said.

If true, if he really said it (and too many reputable reporters have already said he did), then my column headline is even further cemented in the belief of its truth.
