Jared Bednar: “We’re hungrier than we were last season”

On Wednesday afternoon, for the first time in 104 days, Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar sat down with the media to field a variety of pre-season questions, as the 2021-22 season is set to officially begin Thursday morning with Day 1 of training camp.

It was a lifetime ago—or roughly 104 days—the Avs suffered a second-round, Game 6 loss at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights. After a Presidents’ Trophy finish to the regular season, the second-round loss (for the third straight year) stung particularly bad. From the favorites or whatever to start the 2020-21 campaign, to….just whatever by the season’s end, the Avalanche we’re obviously a disappointment.

But you don’t have to tell them that.
