Trying to guess who survives the Avs’ final cuts

Ok There is some legitimate drama here, as to who will stay and who will go. In a normal year, we usually know what the real roster will be with the Colorado Avalanche. Now, there is a real game of musical chairs, and after tonight’s preseason game with the Dallas Stars, the music will stop playing for some.

Tonight’s game is the final chance for bubble players to make a good impression on Avalanche coaching and management. (One problem, though: Jared Bednar remains in Covid protocol and can’t be in the building tonight to make any personal evaluations. He no doubt will have plenty of game film to look over, but it’ll have to be that – game film – as there is no TV tonight).

Right now, there are 28 players on the camp roster, but four of them (Devon Toews, Pavel Francouz, Jayson Megna and Dennis Gilbert) don’t really count, because the first two are injured and the latter two are still in the process of either clearing waivers or being selected by another team.
