Next two Avalanche games against Dallas are postponed

Just as I finished writing a story saying, as of press time, the Avs-Stars game Wednesday was still on…it’s off. And, so is Friday’s game.
The NHL just announced this:
This doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Other teams, such as Tampa Bay and Montreal, have plenty of guys on the Covid list, but their game for tomorrow night is still on. Why can’t the Avs still play, with taxi squad guys around – like the ones they called up today? Why can’t Dallas do the same?
Well, so much for any hockey this week, folks. Let’s all settle in for more practice videos and Zoom calls.
It appears to me that the NHL is using the new-found time as a result of canceling olympic competition to allow Omicron to run it’s course. Information from South Africa, etc. indicate that this thing comes and then goes away very quickly. Let’s hope that they are correct. I need my hockey fix.
I can’t get enough of hockey as the next one here, but other than for the sake of having players pursuing individual records, do we really need 82 games for the regular season? In fact, as we have seen the last couple of season, there is the benefit of giving players an opportunity to heal from injuries and thus potentially reducing the number of games teams have to play with… Read more »
Why do we need 82 games? Think $$$.
SCAMDEMIC !!!!!!
Yo, Adrian! Lots of hockey to write about with the World Juniors. How about some coverage on “The Big O,” or “Double O” for the Avs & Team Sweden?
Good idea
I mean, just about every major concert or other arena performance on or before New Years Eve have been cancelled. I’m surprised more venues haven’t been paused.
Really NHL really I’m so done with this Bull
Eagles are on AHLTV Wed and Friday at 5MT. I’ve been catching their games during the shutdown and they are entertaining. Not the NHL but it is hockey and familiar faces
The Stars situation is worse than it appears on the surface. Not only are they dealing with the guys they’ve added to their Covid Protocol lists, their AHL team also has an even larger outbreak making it near impossible for them to even get minor league players called up to cover.
