During training camp, I asked Avalanche coach Jared Bednar about his strategy in the past of occasionally breaking up his top line — Nathan MacKinnon centering Gabe Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen — for the sake of balance or when Bednar wants to send a hey-guys message.

Bednar pretty much said he reserved the right to do so, but would prefer not to.

Because not tinkering with it would mean things are going well.

Well, other than injury-, COVID protocol and suspension-caused absences, things are going quite well.
