Just in to the breaking news desk here at Colorado Hockey Now: Jared Bednar has been selected as the head coach for the Central Division team at the NHL All-Star Game.

The game is slated for Feb. 5 in Las Vegas. The game will again be played in a four-team, round-robin format, with 3-on-3 action.

Andrew Brunette (Atlantic), Rod Brind’Amour (Metropolitan) and Pete DeBoer (Pacific) are the other coaches.

Crystal Ball Bonus!

Nice to see Bednar get some recognition here.

Is this the first Avalanche coach to be selected for an All Star game? I have a bet with my husband!
