Remember names such as Daniel Winnik, Reto Berra, Mikkel Boedker and Sven Andrighetto? Those are just a few of the former Avalanche players who were named to various countries’ Olympic hockey teams for play next month in China.

There are 12 former Avs on different rosters, including four that made the Canadian roster. They are: Winnik, Mark Barberio, Ben Street and Brandon Gormley.

The full list and the country they’ll play for:

Mark Barberio (CAN)

Brandon Gormley (CAN)

Ben Street (CAN)

Daniel Winnik (CAN)

David Warsofsky (USA)

Roman Will (CZE)

Mikkel Boedker (DEN)

Mikhail Grigorenko (ROC)

Reto Berra (SWI)

Sven Andrighetto (SWI)

Marko Dano (SLO)

Dennis Everberg (SWE)

All these guys are still playing for various European teams. Winnik, actually, has found a successful second act with Geneve Servette of the Swiss League. Entering today, Winnik had 22 goals and 42 points in 36 games for that club. Andrighetto has 29 points in 36 games for Zurich of the Swiss League.

Reto Berra has a .929 saves percentage playing for Fribourg of the Swiss League.

Nice to see all these guys getting a chance at Olympic gold.
