Frei: Leave Kuemper in (+)

After skating stridently through attempted stick taps to his pads from teammates as he headed to the Avalanche bench, goalie Darcy Kuemper swung and smashed his stick against the boards.

Then he stormed though the bench and back to the locker room Saturday night at Ball Area.

In what turned out to be the Avalanche’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Flames, Kuemper — who eventually returned to the bench — was not a happy camper.
