Pavel Francouz Back in Action for Colorado Avalanche

Pavel Francouz

Scratch all the worry about Pavel Francouz. He’s back already. He’s got a nice shiner on his left eye, as this tweet from the Colorado Avalanche shows:

No idea what the cinnamon bun reference is, but whatever. Hopefully, Justus Annunen got a nice meal with the Avs and a nice seat on his flight to Winnipeg, but it appears he’ll be ticketed back to the Eagles anytime now.

Mikko Rantanen will miss a third straight game tonight with his non-Covid illness, by the way.

Avs at Jets tonight. As more lineup details become known, I’ll update this.

UPDATE: Frankie will serve as backup to Darcy Kuemper tonight. Justus Annunen is with the team in Winnipeg, but not part of the active roster. He will fly back with the team after the game tonight, then report back to the Eagles.

If it’s only an illness and the other teams can’t injure Rantanen’s injured limb, why can’t the team be transparent and say what this bs non-Covid illness is? Could you at least tell us if he made the trip to Winnipeg so it would give us an indication that he’s close to a return? Journalism please.

Haha he is in Colorado. Resting…

As shitty as they are coached and have played they should have sent the entire squa down to Eagles and brought the Eagles up. Would have been more effort…

Havs blow!

Great news!
Any update on Landy?

Donald Victory

Yep, still lazy!

Thanks for, as always, keeping us up-to-date AD. Appreciate it!

What illness does Mikko have that’s keeping him out this long? Sucks not to have him playing.

Aaron Ward

Allergies. His nose ran for 30 straight seconds when he woke up this week.

This is very similar to an NFL team not playing it’s best players when they have the #1 seed locked up. You bench your most valuable players to keep them healthy for the last 1/17th of the season.

5 games in the NHL is equivalent to one game in the NFL. They worked all season to have this time to get healthy before the second season begins.

I love this team and hope so badly this is our year. Go Avs!

Then, how about being transparent about it? Protect the hockey fantasy pools participants!

Aaron Rud

My guess is that it’s all optics. Bednar knows how stupid it would look to sit him as well, so they just say he’s sick instead.

An athlete like Rantanen out with a flu for one week? Give me a break. What a warrior.

Donald Victory

0-0 after second. Havs not in Winnipeg. MacTurnover at it again his carry into the zone on a powerplay has been pathetic.

Players who miss games in the last week of the season wthout a good reason should be suspended for the first round.
