The defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche (that sounds nice, doesn’t it?) occupied a once-familiar place among the team tables at the NHL draft – way in the back. That’s where the teams that finished with the best records sit, and the Avalanche were the last team to pick in the sixth and seventh rounds of the draft today in Montreal.
