Dater’s Daily: Nothing Imminent On MacKinnon, But No Reason For Panic

A good Saturday to all. Quite a change in the weather overnight here in T-Town (Thornton). 98 degrees yesterday, about 60 right now as I type from the damp, wet deck, overcast. This is my kind of weather. I love Fall weather. It’ll always remind me of Saturday Dartmouth football games in Hanover, N.H., where I sold Coca-Cola from big trays slung around my neck, walking up and down the stands, taking and returning change. I think they were 25 cents a cup in this particular era of Dater history (1976-77, 11-12 years old). I still remember going to a Star Wars showing later one Saturday night after a game and paying with a bunch of quarters from my overstuffed pocket. That was the second time I’d seen Star Wars. The first time was the very first showing on the day it premiered in 1977. I saw it at the Copley theater in Boston with my older friend Jack, and believe me when I tell you there were only about 15 people in the theater, if that. The second time I saw it, on that Hanover night, the line was around the block. … Anyway, let’s talk some hockey, starting with a tidbit on Nathan MacKinnon and his next contract:
