Colorado Avalanche rookie camp

The Colorado Avalanche reassigned more players this morning after their fourth preseason game last night against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Several of the players did shine during their time with the Avalanche and took advantage to impress the coaches, there just is not enough room at the moment for them in Denver. Alex Beaucage showed some skill last night with a goal and six shots on net to lead the team on top of his goal from Sunday. Oskar Olausson, as good as he was, was destined to started the year with the Eagles. He is a star in the making with a NHL ready shot and awareness of the ice that goes along with it. Sampo Ranta, as much as I want him to succeed on the the team, showed flashes of physicality and that was about it.

Charles Hudon played very well, with his 125 NHL games of experience to help him along the way. He was relentless on the forecheck and never gave up on the puck. He will turn out to be a depth forward for the Avalanche this year with some injury call-ups. Brad Hunt, who has played 241 career NHL games will head to Loveland assuming he clears waivers tomorrow. He showed that he was good on the penalty kill and has a powerful shot from the blue line.

All of the players that have been placed on waivers today will know their final destination by 10 AM Mountain Time tomorrow morning. Their destination will depend on if another team decides to claim them or if they clear they will head to Loveland and join the Eagles.
