A pleasant Monday to all. Beautiful day here in T-Town. Avalanche are off today, by the way. Back at practice tomorrow. Let’s do some NHL news and notes, starting with the serious allegations made yesterday by an anonymous female, who Tweeted allegations of sexual abuse when she was a minor toward former Avalanche defenseman Ian Cole:

  • A woman who used an alias of “Emily Smith” tweeted the allegations yesterday, as a statement. They were said to have happened over a period of four years, when she was a minor in high school, “a few years” into Cole’s NHL career. Cole’s career began in 2010 with St. Louis. He played for the Avalanche from 2018-21.
  • The Tampa Bay Lightning, Cole’s current team, suspended Ian Cole yesterday pending a further investigation, which the NHL at large also is conducting.
  • Today, Cole, through his agent, issued a statement denying the allegations

  • It’s obviously a serious situation and I’m sure the Lightning and NHL will look into it thoroughly.
  • Some cap stuff:
