NEWARK, N.J. – The record is 4-3-1, they’re the Stanley Cup champs, life is good for Colorado Avalanche fans. I saw quite a few of them tonight at the Prudential Center, decked out in their jerseys in New Jersey. There are more Avalanche fans here than many people might think. But it was fans of the Devils who were chortling into the balmy late October night when the game was over.

The Devils won the hockey game with Colorado, 1-0, and they deserved it. They were the better team in the little, fundamental things. Things like faceoffs.
