Avalanche Finland Games On IMAX
For those of you who couldn’t make the journey to Finland for the Avalanche Global Series games this weekend against Columbus, there is an interesting alternative available: The games will be on a giant IMAX screen at the AMC Westminster Promenade 24, with organizers promising a “front row, up against the glass” viewing experience.
Click here for ticket information. I believe they are $20 apiece. This sounds like fun. And, while you’re out in Westminster, you can postgame at THE hockey bar in the Denver metro area – Bender’s, just across the street. You might even meet a tall, red-headed veteran sports writer there.
Here’s the release from the NHL and IMAX, which is sponsoring all this:
LOS ANGELES, CA – Hockey fans are invited to immerse themselves in a one-of-a-kind sporting event with an exclusive fan-first viewing experience presented in collaboration with the National Hockey League (NHL) and IMAX Live. Audiences will get a front row, up-against-the-glass seat to watch the Colorado Avalanche face the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2022 NHL Global Series at the Nokia Arena in Tampere live as it happens, through IMAX’s premium visual and audio technology. For those in Colorado, this IMAX Live presentation is an unmissable opportunity for the true hockey fan who can’t be there in person in Finland.
