Peter Forsberg

A good Wednesday to all. Another cold day in the Mile High City on tap. Brennan will have coverage from Avalanche practice today. In the meantime, let’s do some hockey notes, starting with a story from Sweden where Peter Forsberg lists the five greatest teammates he ever had:

  • Not a huge surprise in the list Foppa gave to a Swedish outlet, though maybe the last guy listed (Hockey Beast)
  • Peter Forsberg remains the most talented player I ever saw in person, in his prime.
  • Alex Ovechkin now has 800 goals. He really is going to pass Wayne Gretzky at some point reasonably soon, isn’t he? (Washington Hockey Now)
  • One more for Ovechkin, and he ties Gordie Howe for second all-time. Then, it’s only Gretzky ahead of him, at 894.
  • The Bruins kept rolling along last night (Boston Hockey Now)
  • Chris Pronger told a current player to quit whining to the press (Hockey Beast)
  • Sasha Barkov says there is “no excuse” for Florida’s slow start (Florida Hockey Now)
  • Scott Wedgewood and the Dallas Stars got a big win last night against New Jersey (Dallas Hockey Now)
  • We’ll see Tyson Jost again Thursday night, when the Sabres comes to town to play the Avalanche. I can’t believe he’s still only 24 years old.
  • The Sabres are coming off a 6-0 win last night (Buffalo News)
  • Jost had an assist in the win.
  • The Islanders are having a lot of injury problems too (NYI Hockey Now)
  • The Penguins just lost a veteran D-man to injury too (Pittsburgh Hockey Now)
  • Randy Hahn has broadcast 2,000 Sharks games. A deeper look at the man (San Jose Hockey Now)
