Should Jeff Carter be Suspended For His Blindside Hit on Cale Makar?

Avalanche Makar

It was a very tough loss for the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night.

It could have been worse.

Cale Makar took a blindside hit to the head from Jeff Carter in front of his own net in the third period. Makar would lay on the ice for a little bit before being helped off. Carter avoided any penalty from the reffing crew and played out the rest of the game.

Concussion spotters removed Makar from the game. However, he did return late for the Avalanche. He appears to be okay, but you never really know with head injuries, so it will be something to monitor.

The Avalanche were, obviously, not happy after the game.

Take a look at the hit for yourself. Was their intent? Do you think Carter should be suspended for it? It is the type of hit the league is trying to get rid of. If the league is serious about getting rid of these hits he should be suspended, in my opinion.
