Cale Makar has flown under the radar in the Norris Trophy debate this season, but the evolution in his game should not go unnoticed.

Meanwhile, it’s Hockey Day in Finland this weekend over Tampere, Finland, so now it’s time to debate: Who is the best Finnish player in the NHL?

All that and more in this Saturday edition of Evan’s Daily.

Colorado Hockey Now

Now that the offense is really starting to come for Cale Makar, he should be in the Norris Trophy conversation. But the reality is, he was having a very good year already. He set the bar high in 2021-22 in terms of what people expect from him, but this season, his game has evolved into what the Colorado Avalanche needed him to be. Around the NHL

It’s Hockey Day in Finland this weekend, and it’s time to debate: who is the best Finnish born player in the NHL?

Is it Colorado’s own Mikko Rantanen, who is closing in on his first 50 goal season?

Is it Alex Barkov, who is one of the best two-way players in the world?

Or Sebastian Aho, one of the better players on one of the better teams?

NHL.com debated on the most exciting. If you ask me, Barkov is the best player overall, but he can never stay healthy. That’s a problem.

Who do you think is the best Finnish player in the league?
