KHL Star: Avalanche Prospect Kovalenko Cruises Through Defense For Playoff Goal

Another day, another nice goal for Colorado Avalanche prospect Nikolai Kovalenko.
The 23 year old Russian, who was drafted in the sixth round by the Colorado Avalanche back in 2018, scored his third goal of the KHL playoffs in game two of the second round.
His team, Torpedo, ended up losing the game, and is currently down 2-0 in their series to SKA. Two more losses, and they’ll be eliminated from the postseason.
Torpedo defeated Dynamo Moscow in round one of the playoffs in six games.
Check out the goal by Kovalenko below. He currently is tied for the team lead in points in the postseason with six. Kovalenko is averaging a little over 21 minutes a game for his team in the playoffs.

Evan confirm Kovalenko has one more year on his contract after this season in the KHL?
Yes one more season
Too bad he looks like a legit high-end prospect
Could the AVs buy him out of his contract and bring him to Colorado next season?
It’s not impossible, but Kovalenko’s dad is big in the KHL, and believes in playing there and establishing yourself as a player before leaving. I would say it’s highly unlikely.
