Nathan MacKinnon would already have several 100 point seasons under his belt if not for injuries and a pandemic, but late on Tuesday night, he hit the milestone mark in dramatic fashion against the San Jose Sharks.

After a back and forth overtime, Nathan MacKinnon found himself all alone on a breakaway, and he made no mistake, beating Kappa Kahkonen on the blocker side, giving the Avalanche the 4-3 overtime victory.

With the goal, MacKinnon hit 100 points for the first time in his career, and picked up his third point of the night. He’s the first Avalanche skater to hit 100 points since Joe Sakic did it back in 2006-07.

Take a look at the goal, which also happened to send the Avalanche into first place in the Central Division.
