The World Championships over in Finland have begun, and while only three Colorado Avalanche players are participating, they’re all three making an impact on their team.

Veteran defenseman Brad Hunt picked up an assist in Canada’s first game, which was a 6-0 victory over Latvia.

For Switzerland, it was the Denis Malgin show. The 26 year old forward picked up two goals and an assist, including this bomb on the powerplay. Switzerland ended up defeating Slovenia 7-0.

And last, but not least, is Mikko Rantanen. The superstar forward was held without a point in Finland 4-1 loss to the United States on Friday, but bounced back on Saturday. He picked up two assists, as the Finns held on to beat Germany by a score of 4-3. On the game-winning goal, Rantanen weaved through the defense before putting a shot on net. The initial shot was saved, but the rebound was put in by Mikko Lehtonen. Rantanen also picked up a primary assist earlier in the game.

The tournament continues on Sunday, with the Avalanche skaters back on the ice. Brad Hunt and Team Canada will take on Slovenia, while Switzerland will take on Norway.
