Evan’s NHL Daily: McDavid and Oilers Eliminated, Lehkonen’s Season

Connor McDavid might be the best player in the NHL, but he will once again leave the season without a Stanley Cup championship, as his Oilers were eliminated on Sunday night.

We took a look back at Artturi Lehkonen’s first full year with the Colorado Avalanche, which went about as well as you could have expected.

Artturi Lehkonen set career highs in goals, assists, and points, all while playing heavy minutes for the Avalanche. It’s safe to say his first full season in Colorado was a massive success.

NHL Playoffs

Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers were eliminated on Sunday night by the Vegas Golden Knights, as they fell 5-2 in Game Six. After a hot start where they scored two goals in the first three minutes, the Oilers cooled off and were held in check by Vegas. McDavid will, once again, hit the golf courses a little earlier than he expected.

From Vegas’ point of view, they did a great job of shutting McDavid down, and after a hot start to the series, they did the same to Draisaitl. Here’s four keys to their victory.
