Avalanche Wrap-Up: Does Drouin Make Sense? Trade Assets That Could Move

It’s the calm before the storm with the offseason for the Colorado Avalanche. With the playoffs still going on, there isn’t much in terms of news out there.



But even with that being the case, we took a look at Jonathan Drouin, and whether or not he’s a fit with Colorado. We also took a look at the trade assets the Avalanche have that could move this summer.

Hereโ€™s a look back at what you might have missed, as well as a look ahead at whatโ€™s coming at CHN this week.

Monday

Yes, everyone knows Jonathan Drouin played with Nathan MacKinnon a decade ago. But what is there to make of Drouin now? Would he fit in Colorado? With the help of the Montreal Hockey Now beat writer, we took a look at Drouin and if he makes sense for the Avalanche.

Tuesday

Patrick Roy‘s name is coming up more and more linked to teams that need new coaches. His time in Colorado ended terribly, but the league is a bit more fun when he’s around.

Ryan Merkley was picked up as a reclamation project for Colorado. Did it work? We reviewed his game in a film room this week. (+)

Picked up late in the summer, Evan Rodrigues provided great value for the Avalanche. We took a look back at his season.
