Evan’s NHL Daily: Hall to Blackhawks, Krug Uses NTC Blues Gave Him
It was NHL Awards night, but quite frankly, the things happening off the ice are far more interesting than some awards fans could have predicted.
When Torey Krug signed with St. Louis, they gave him a no-trade clause. The last few days, it appears they’ve been trying to trade him to Philadelphia, but he’s used that clause, which he has every right to.
I don’t think the Blackhawks expect to be any good next year, but they went out and found Connor Bedard a nice winger to play with.
All that and more in this Tuesday edition of Evan’s Daily.
Colorado Hockey Now
On Monday, Ryan Johansen met with the media, and talked about his health, as well as how he believes he can be a great asset to the Avalanche. You can read about that here.
How did the Avalanche fare on NHL Awards night? Here’s a look at who got votes for every award.
On Tuesday, we’ll have an article from a CHL scout going very in-depth about some options late in the draft for the Avalanche, as they look to find some gems in rounds 5-7.
NHL Trade Chatter
Torey Krug did nothing wrong by exercising his no-trade clause in the Blues attempt to send him to Philadelphia.
Connor Bedard will need somebody to play with, so might as well have him play with a former 1st overall pick. Taylor Hall, who was the top draft pick back in 2010, is headed to the Blackhawks, as the Bruins desperately needed to get rid of a contract.
And the Bruins are probably just getting started with their moves.
