Avalanche Training Camp Roster With Groupings
Training camp kicks off today for the Colorado Avalanche, and we officially have groupings for everyone that will be on the ice.
If you’re headed to Family Sports, this is how the groups will look when they’re on the ice.
Obviously, we won’t be seeing Gabriel Landeskog or Artturi Lehkonen with the groups, although I’d guess that Lehkonen will skate on his own, as he has the last few weeks.
I’m about to head to camp, but here’s some quick observations on how they separated these groups…
- Are the Avalanche going to look into separating Devon Toews and Cale Makar? Girard spent a lot of informal skates with Makar and is set to skate with him today.
- Obviously, the Avalanche aren’t looking to experiment right away with their top line, but I’d guess we see other combinations as camp goes on.
- Casey Mittelstadt getting two youngsters is interesting, as you’d think they’d want at least one proven winger on his side to help whoever they decide to put on the other wing. Kovalenko and Innala set to get real looks in camp.
- Are the Avalanche going to try to make Parker Kelly a center? He’s never really played that position in the NHL, but it seems like they’re going to give it a look.
- Group one looks significantly more stacked than group two.
- The “Roaring 20’s” line is back together.
On-ice activities start at 9 AM MST at Family Sports. See you all there.
