Avalanche Pregame Notes
Avalanche Game 3 vs New York Islanders, Patrick Roy Returns! Lines, Notes, & How to Watch

The Colorado Avalanche (0-2-0) are set to host the New York Islanders (0-1-1), led by head coach Patrick Roy. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
Roy is making his return to Ball Arena for the first time since quitting as head coach of the Avs in August 2016. Following morning skate, Roy said he wished he had done things differently and didn’t have respect for the position back then.
The Avalanche have their work cut out for them. Despite scoring four goals in each of the first two games, Colorado has nothing to show for it in the standings because its goaltending has been abysmal. Head coach Jared Bednar is going back to Alexandar Georgiev again, hoping his starter could snap out of this funk.
