Avalanche Pregame Notes
Avalanche Game 8 at Utah Hockey Club, Lines, Notes, & How to Watch
The Colorado Avalanche (3-4-0) are on the road to take on Utah Hockey Club (4-2-1) and are looking to extend their winning streak to four games. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
Utah could very well be the Avs’ new rival for years to come. It’s the first matchup between the two clubs since the Arizona Coyotes relocated to Salt Lake City over the summer. The Avalanche have found some consistency in their lineup after promoting Ross Colton and Logan O’Connor to the top six to play on separate lines. They started the season with both of them on the third line alongside Miles Wood.
O’Connor has been playing on the second line with Casey Mittelstadt and Nikolai Kovalenko while Colton has been the third piece of the top line with superstars Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.
The Avs also started Justus Annunen in each of the first two games of the road trip and the Finnish netminder has surrendered just three goals in that stretch.
