Ross Colton and Miles Wood were not on the ice at Avalanche practice on Saturday at Family Sports in Centennial. Colton was injured in the 5-1 win against the Utah Hockey Club. The 28-year-old forward took a slash to the hand and did not return. He was spotted sitting above the rink with an Avalanche hoodie on and appeared to have his thumb wrapped up.

Neither player is seriously injured and head coach Jared Bednar said they rested instead of practiced and hope to have them against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night.

Jonathan Drouin was out in a red jersey practicing with the team and Artturi Lehkonen was in blue. Drouin was a light participant but Lehkonen was working more with the rest of the team.

Bednar said Lehkonen will be evaluated on Tuesday and if he is cleared, they will go from there to plan on his return.
