Avalanche Game 10 vs Chicago Blackhawks, Lines, Notes, & How to Watch

Published

on

The Colorado Avalanche (5-4-0) are back in action on Monday for the second leg of a back to back, both at Ball Arena. They host the Chicago Blackhawks (2-6-1) and aim to extend their winning streak to six games. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

Colorado defeated the Ottawa Senators on Sunday 5-4 in a game that had seven goals in the third period. For the Avs, getting production from players outside of the top stars has been crucial during their winning streak. Logan O’Connor, Josh Manson, and Nikolai Kovalenko all scored their first of the season.ย Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Cale Makar still combined for four points on what was deemed a slower night for the trio.

Goalie Justus Annunen won again for the Avs but he’s expected to get the night off because of the back to back off. Alexandar Georgiev, who hasn’t played in more than a week, will get a chance to settle into his game now that the pressure is off of him and the team has started to win games. Albeit a tough first period might quickly turn his teammates or coach against him.

Chicago enters the game coming off a 4-2 loss to the Dallas Stars. They beat the Edmonton Oilers earlier in the season, which was massive at the time. Their only other victory came against the winless San Jose Sharks.
