Casey Mittelstadt may be reserved in the locker room around media but he is loud on the ice with teammates. The 25-year-old forward has 15 points (6G, 9A) through 13 games and has only been held scoreless in three of those matchups.

He has consistently improved his game since joining the Avalanche at the trade deadline last season. Head coach Jared Bednar has said numerous times that his second-line center has “another level” he has yet to reach.

He has played with several different linemates because of injuries, but has consistently produced despite the team’s 6-7-0 record. Part of his production comes from his high hockey IQ and vision on the ice.
